Guest Bell box bob Posted January 31, 2005 Share Posted January 31, 2005 hi newbie member need some help, ive a galaxy 60 control panel which when i turn on the keypad bleeps and flashes ******** on the screen the power led isnt iluminated, ive been told that this means no comms, ive replaced the cable to the panel with no joy, ive checked that the A,B are the same each end, ive got the 680 ohm resistor in place helppppppppp ive got mains and battery is new volts at keypad 13.1 v dc and accross the comms 12.7v dc any advice much appreciated, i have version 1.8 software on the board and hardware version 1.72 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/4956-galaxy-60-dead/ Share on other sites More sharing options...

Remove all other rkp's, rio's and comms mods, etc (anything data), restart the panel and see if you have the same problem. Also check your belden screen is grounded at the panel end. Do other data devices work ok on the AB terminals? If not it's the panel, if so, it's the keypad or cable or interference. Is there another keypad onsite that you can swap it for, that will eliminate the keypad. If you don't know......ask. Guest Bell box bob Posted February 1, 2005 Share Posted February 1, 2005 thankyou all for your response, well the system was working and the resistor is in the keypad, ive tried the keypad at work on a spare galaxy and it didnt work untill we changed the connector plug on the back then it worked fine but alas when i tried it home it didnt work!!!! so now what! got a dead galaxy not good think it may be new board ?????
