exactly but it keeps both the customer and company happy.

I have seen access control done this way and cctv. But it seems very unsecure for intruder. erhaps it belongs in the DIY Section

I could wire my kettle with cat 5 and it would work

you think you could pull 1850W-2200W / 2-10amps though a strand less than 1mm and it would work ?

but i am learning about alarms and the best way is the right way use the correct cable for the job and however i might not agree with peters way of putting it but what he is saying is spot on !!!

bet u could.

4 cores for pos

4 cores for neg

most kettle arnt more than a metre away from the socket.

u could probably run a 7kw shower of it if it was next to mains board.

maybe the kettle with 4 cores used

but i was under the impression he was using 6 for the PIR and 2 for the kettle ?

i still think the properties of the wires would burn out very quickly

not long peter the cable would proberbly melt within seconds of curren being applied .

as for the megga problem we have 2 engineers me being one of them 1 manager and 1 trainee, 3 meggas but only 1 of them is calibrated so the other 2 just stay in the cupboard in the corner
