Alarm Problem

Hi again. I`ve changed the transformer to a 12v 50va ( the only one they had in stock) and I`ve also replaced the battery with a 7Ah one. The system still shows a message on the screen as TRBL Supply, but it can be set and used as normal. Any ideas on this one.

I'm pretty sure that if your confident that, around 16-24Vac is getting to the Abacus PCB terminals, and you can't clear this message, then whichever component(s) control the power monitoring have packed in.

I'm afraid it's a new panel!!

If you don't know......ask.

The 12 VAC TX once it`s gone through the rectifying circuitry and smoothing caps should produce around 18VDC at the regulator, so as far as I `m aware shouldn`t have caused any problems, especially with the TX being 50VA too.

Does it still work without the battery connected?

If so I reckon the monitoring circuitry must be looking for 18Vac (rated in manual) as the system operates but the message is still displayed.

If you don't know......ask.

I think you may be right Bri, the panel circuity is looking for a higher voltage and reporting a fault becuse its lower than expected.

The panel will probably work ok, except for showing the fault.
