so its the polling delay between devices and saving energy on the battery that differs 1 way over 2 way. it does not jeopardise the security.

The Visonic seems to be very popular with installers, i had two recommendation from two local installers to install Visonic Powermax over other products. Is this because of the ease to install them and the cost?

Have a read over this thread before I start getting deja-vu.

  • Although, bad is not really a word I would use, lets put this into prospective. There are certain vulnerabilities to one way wireless, but with all security systems the total risk should be considered

Visonic's are fairly easy to install, I have fitted many of them myself in the past, but i now use texecom ricochet for all new installs. not a massive price difference and imo a far better system

if its a DIY install then a visonic may be the better choice for ease of installation

The vulnerability is the communication between the devices and the control panel. One way wireless has been around for years and I am not aware of any incidences where one way has been compromised because of the way it works. Two way is better for sure in the same way that a 3ltr engine is better than a 900cc one. Just to add if your insurance company is insisting on a burglar alarm, then you should not be considering DIY in the firts place but two way would be the choice of most professional installers

Visonic is cheap so is popular as 1 way. Pyronix is the cheapest 2 way so it popular too

I like that, your going for the cheapest 2 way then?
