I have just installed a Gardtec 840 with Contour Keypad. I have programmed the latter as JP1 and keypad is recognised by opanel and all appears to be well. When I enter user or engineer code unit goes into local alarm with message "Kypad 1 Tamper". I have rechecked wiring, that tamper switch on keypad is being made etc and am now stuck. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

cheers, David

Is there a Spring attached on the switch on the keypad..?

Is DURESS code enabled and are your user & engineer codes conflicting..?

Is there only the 1 keypad..?

Sounds to me that fixing is somehow loose since it makes tamper alarm when you touch it??

Have programmed one of the ACE transmitters to activate alarm. Same problem occurs suggesting there is nothing being disturbed while I press the keys.

regardless of these faults showing up, can you actually set the system, and if so does this fault only occur on un-setting..?

Is there a Spring attached on the switch on the keypad..? Yes and I can hear it "clicking" when I replace the cover.

Is DURESS code enabled and are your user & engineer codes conflicting..? Haven't programmed anything except one ACE transmitter to check pressing keys wasn't causing problem.  Default codes are still in use.

Is there only the 1 keypad..? Yes, only one LCD keypad.

Have you corectly placed the EOL jumper on the keypad..?

Oh and BETTER picture Georg :)

Note: All jumpers should be in the desired position before the RKP is powered up. If a

jumper is re-positioned the RKP should be re-powered.
