ElecTech Posted March 11, 2016 Share Posted March 11, 2016 What do the regs say about green break glass units on fire doors, are they needed if the fire alarm opens the door through a I/O unit? Or do they have to be present at all times, I was under the impression they had to be present as a manual override. A new site we looked at today only uses fire alarm as the override. Cant be right...? Say the emergency isn't fire related, or perhaps in this day and age a terrorist related attack, people may still need to use this route as an exit. So having said that, is it a REQUIREMENT for the fire alarm to trigger these doors if a double pole break glass is fitted. Or is that an added nicety?
