FAI Security Guard

Featured Replies

I have just moved into a house that has a FAI Security Guard II system installed. The owner had turned the main unit off as he acquired a couple of cats, but then lost the key. I have tried to find contact details of FAI but it appears they no longer exist, is that right? If so does anybody know where I might be able to get a replcement key from.

Many Thanks.

If knowledge serves me correctly FAI vanished some time ago. There is a website that claims to carry some spares, its on an earlier link, I'll see if i can dig it out.

If you do run it up you may need to change your battery.

I'll get back to you with some information soon.

cheers

Thanks for the reply. I actually managed to open the case up and have been able to replace the whole key switch with a new one from Maplins, so I can now turn it off and on now.

Thanks.

I am in the same predicament. Ant suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I thought the suggestions above were quite good. What else do you need to know?

How do I open it up and change the key fitting over?

If you cant pry/force the lid open then your going to have to drill the lock off, go to maplins and buy a suitable replacement.

I have actually have finally got it off. I am from Australia but we have similar stores here. Are the new locks exspensive?
