Worked on sites for years and no one ever asked for mine. With regards to being incorporated into construction don't let this happen. The security industry is currently exempt under the constrution industry Tax scheme, and therefore installers can collect payment gross. Under CIS companies will be taxed by the contractor on the labour element on all works carried out. Unless you go to the trouble of getting a CIS card. As if its not bad enough getting paid in the first instance.
