Ideas On system Components

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm shortly going to be moving in to a new house and want an idea on what would be the best (ie. reliability, value for money and configuration options) components for the idea I have in mind.

Alarm System.

2x Real Bell boxes

Internal sounders.

Is there anything loud enough to get burgers out in pain????

8 or more zones, remote keypad with LCD Display etc.

Decent PIR's, Door contacts for PVC.

Is it better advised to use also glass break / shock sensors?

What about smoke alarms that intergrate with the alarm and autodialler?

What's involved in this remote audio listening by phone equipment?

Auto Dialler.

A budget of about £60-£100 for this.

I've heard some do SMS, any experiences.

I'll also have to secure any external phone line connections from being tampered with.

Outdoor Lighting.

3 Outdoor Lamps. I'm thinking better than £10 B&Q here. :)

Seperate PIR units to work my CCTV Alarm inputs and to trigger the lamps.

CCTV.

So far I've got several Bullet cams and A ROBOT 9ch Mux to do all the work but i would like this intergrated with the alarm system if possible. The MUX has plenty of alarm inputs/outputs.

This may sound a bit extreame for a small semi-detached house but it's a little challange of mine to get this place as advanced as possible (maybe an obsession as the misses put's it  ).

This is going to be a sort of DIY / semi-pro job, I've worked in CCTV for years and I've got to know what equipment does the best job for an application but I have no knowledge of alarm system manufactors, what brands to avoid and what realy stands out.

Any help would be most appreciated.

What is your total budget all inclusive, alarm wise.

I assume that`s just your equipment budget and that you intend fitting everything yourself..?

That's just equipment realy

I'm intending to fit it all myself but maybe not all at once, the fisrt thing I've got planned is to put in place all my cables with extra cores for future use. Then if I can't afford all the equipment then the cable will be there ready to terminate when I can.

This may sound a bit crazy, but I've got to give it a go..... :D

For that budget, dont expect all the above stuff, thats for certain!!

I dont know about that Waza, if Jamie's going to be doing it all himself they he wont be far off (just for the alarm gear anyway), I hope to be moving house myself in the next few months so Ill no doubt be going completely overboard myslef in a similar fashion :D
