paday
I have an Avanti XP with the LCD panel. It's been working fine for years My problem is that the LCD control panel seems to have crashed, it shows a message but none of the keys do anything. What I need to do is reboot it, just like a Ctrl-Alt-Del on a PC. Is there a key sequence that does this or is my only option to turn off the power to the main control box, open it and remove the backup battery for a few seconds? Obviously the alarm will be set off by this process Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37952-avanti-xp-lcd-reboot/ Share on other sites
datadiffusion
A full power cycle is the first stage of a 'reboot', but this brings safety issues with mains electricity as I'm sure you're aware. It's worth a try but if you don't know the engineer code (if the panel doesn't allow user reset on tamper) could land you in a worse position. These panels are OK, but MDT / Avanti went bust many years ago now and spare parts / support are gone. So, I've decided to take my work back underground.... to stop it falling into the wrong hands Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/37952-avanti-xp-lcd-reboot/#findComment-407973 Share on other sites
sixwheeledbeast
They are known to do that, especially if it's not had a battery in a while. It would probably be a good idea to get someone to service it. There is no magic key sequence to "reboot" the alarm.
