Hi Norman,

erm yes; already tried that; I would, but they are Italian and I don't want to wake up with a horses head in my bed!!

My knowledge of batteries is, well, lacking somewhat! The battery I currently have is a Yuasa NP2.8-12 (12V, 2.8Ah). Looking at the CEF website, the nearest equivalent they have seems to be a Challenger 12v, either 3Ah or 2Ah - which should I go for, or should I find somewhere that sells the Yuasa?

The latest RKP will work with the pre-1999 panel as a direct replacement. But for a little more you could replace the whole lot and gain some features ( single button arming , PA from keypad ).But if you are not confident you will still require the services of a security installer to do this for you.

Let us know how you get on. :)

... and a mind-reader as well!! Many thanks to Fastcar and everyone else who has responded - I will let you know how I get on!

The panel arrived this morning... fitted it... and the alarm works fine! Many thanks for all the help!

No problem David, glad we could be of assistance.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
