A standard system, a standard DVR  + IP camera added in future

Is there a generic client software/iphone app I could use to 'merge signals' from a DVR (any or specific) + an IP camera (any or specific)

 

 

PS. A cheap DVR would be any Chinese tat <£800 for 8CH DVR.

xvision/alien/genie etc all come from the same factory just re branded I guess

if you want the cam to be recorded by the drv you are talking hybrid machines.

However if all you want to do is show live images on a mobile then you can use any of the available apps that supports your dvr and an ip camera already supported. Axis is supported by everyone, onvif is supposed to be a standard but is hit and miss on the chinese stuff.

depends on the app, there are apps that support jpg grabs of a lot of dvrs and ip cams together.

Sorry i thought you meant mobile. There is an app called zm4ms that will pull in 36 cams of jpeg base, written by me. Is available online

i cant write stuff for iphone or android its too hard, but windows phone i can.

zm4ms is an ond app that i still maintain, ish but should do what you need on the windows front

Many of the free CMS softwares supplied today with DVRs will support DVR and IP camera, while some also have apps that can handle both. Iirc, Adata DVRs from Dahua have this function and are cheap but double check before buying, not all their DVRs are Dahua afaik.

Btw: Xvision/Alien/Genie all come from different factories so will have different functions and features, not sure if any of these offer what you are looking for.

What are you trying to achieve with this setup? If you wish to record the IP camera this is not a cheap solution to do right and there maybe other ways.
