For some reason our external unit has been flashing quite rapidly (2-3 times per second). There is no sound or any other alarm related issues that I know of. Why would that be, and how could I fix it? The alarm system fitted is SL Compact. I don't have the manual but found something on the internet, which tells nothing about flashing lights.

It may just need a reset after an activation, try that first.

seen quite a few panels do that, also for tamper faults.

daft idea imho as it indicates to one and all the alarm is out of action at this time, personally i'd advise have the strobe wire moved to the bell drive.
