Obviously, it was the trapping a 230v cable in the doorframe that stuck me as dangerous.

I doubt a plaggy door would damage it tbh, but of crushing maybe?

Not sure what tolerance a piece of unprotected flex would have but I doubt it would take a lot damage it. On my door it has locked top middle and bottom so I can imagine that putting a fair amount of pressure on a cable.
