That wont work for me here now.

 

But the voltage drop will be about 0.171 at 12vdc  if cable is 9.2 ohms @ 100 mtrs.

That is from CQR who make it and being used to it.

But 12vdc is low IMHO for a outside detector, you want at least 13.6 out there. 

mains on yes. But consider the bbu.
