I have a son, 8 years old.

Ive been self employed since i left school.

My dad has been self employed since 1979 (builder), neither of us have ever been advised to go ltd

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

It may have changed as mine are now all grown up, but I think you may find your son has tax free allocation. Perhaps you may want to discus this with a pro and put him on your payroll.

Remember there is nothing wrong about avoiding paying tax and as a sole trader you can pretty much do as you please without breaking any laws. Ltd company directors are accountable for the company they work for and although most think they are in charge it's purely that no one bothers to peruse Them because it's just to trivial. That is of course as long as they don't pss the wrong person off.
