Stuck Gardtec

Help

I am working on a Gtec 595 and was setting up areas and area code

The system seems to have somehow locked itself

The panel is showing <<Set 2>> and seems to be locked in this state

Entering the master code or any other code has no effect and the display stays the same

Also wont accept engineer code

System seems to be totally frozen

Any ideas before I reset panel back to defaults

Have you tried switching it off and on again?

Worth doing before a full default.

My guess is you have set an area with a set only code, and maybe have not set up a full user code?

ps: not programmed a gardtec with areas for a while so may be wrong

Surely the 'master' code would unset, or give you the option to? I'd have set up one with access to both wards (areas) just in case? How many RKP's do you have? Are they assigned to area 2?

Also what happens if you walk into the supposed set area?

Hi all

certainy wasnt a set only code, if so the master code would have un set anyway. The RKP would not accept any code at all --master, engineer -- nothing it was just plain frozen.

Anyway, a complete power removal and a restart cleared everything. although interestingly I also had to pull the battery from the bell box to lose ALL power to the panel. Seems like on this panel it can draw from the bell box battery if all else fails.

Anyway all is back to normal. :):):):)

Fot anyone interested the area thing I was trying to set up caused me a lot of confusion :unsure::unsure:

Turns out that this Gardtec panel has some logic when dealing with multiple areas

1) If you have multiple areas (ie common areas) assigned on a zone and any areas dont have a user code set up for any of the areas then the system will automatically set the areas that have no user code anyway.

eg Zone 4 has A1 and A2 assigned and there is a user code for Area 1 only the an Area 1 set will set area 2 as well

2) Another point worth noting when using multiple areas is that zones are only armed if all areas assigned to that zone are set

eg If Zone 4 has areas 1 and 2 assigned it will only be set if BOTH areas 1 and 2 are set.

Confused the hell out of me but when you understand it it's all sensibly logical

Cheeers all for you suggestions

A diode in the SAB should prevent this.

There must be a wiring fault somewhere, or a PSU.
