February 5, 200917 yr comment_223413 you will need to portforward port 21 from your router to the device. But some isp block p[orts 21, 25 80 etc. Also you will need a static ip or ddns setup securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. February 5, 200917 yr comment_223417 or on your router you can put the drive in a DMZ and it is not protected by the firewall... only use to test really but should be ok as its only supporting port 21 and 80 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/26733-ethernet-harddrive-with-built-in-ftp/#findComment-223417 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 February 7, 200917 yr comment_223736 point is the same as u set up different pc-s in your network. u need to give to your hard drive ip address and then forward port in your router. and then u can go to www.whatismyip.com where u will see your ip. some ISP wount change ip very often ( like virgin, mine is same for year allready) so its good news then. lol And then if u wanna log in to your hard drive for eg. if your ip address is 86.101.222.70 and port u forwarded for your hard drive is 88 u type on your web browser http://86.101.222.70:88 Good luck and dont buy a cheap router!!
