Our NSI has no objections either

We stick a document wallet to the inside of the lid and put the panel sheet in it

When was the last time someone's panel caught fire?. i've never heard of one

Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company

I understood that paperwork is no longer allowed in alarm panels.
Funny you should say that we asked the NSI and they have no objections to it

Read Naccoss technical letter 11th Feb 1997 i will try to attach a copy

Customers!

I beleive the letter you refer to Jeff is only a warning and reccomendation and is not obligatory that paperwork is not put inside the cpu, though common sense should prevail in all events

Pete

P.S. Hi Paul are you who I think you are ?

I believe the letter you refer to Jeff is only a warning and recommendation and is not obligatory that paperwork is not put inside the cpu,

Peter

I did attach the letter and personally we comply. Now you wouldn’t want to upset the inspector would you.

ive had two, both early scany 9500's with the smaller diodes on the power supply, catch fire due to mains input over 250v,

there was no paperwork in there either..

Sorry Jeff

I didnt see the attachment 1st time.

However, if you read it it still does not state that documentation should not be left in the panel, only that it is not left in a position that it might give rise to a hazard.

I have had the good fortune to meet several inspectors over the years and none of them have ever queried the fact that there is paperwork in the panel.

I did ask the question back in 1997 and was told that common sense should be used.
