Cctv Camera Lens

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I had purchased the other day a high resolution camera from the security warehouse (See Link!): > http://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog...products_id=849

I am looking for some assistance on where to get a lens that will suit my needs as i did not realise that you would have to purchase this seperate from the camera and unsure which type i would need.

The camera is going on a wall to point on to a road to view cars coming up the road and the wall is about 5 m away from the road the road is around 6 m wide.

All help and suggestions woulm be much apprechiated !

PS: I had spoke to james through this forum from security warehouse AKA: Redbull and he suggest that it would be best to post a topic in the cctv forum for advise.

Also where is the best place to get one of these lenses from?

Kind Regards,

Jack Buchan

if your looking at a 5m scene and a 5m width then you will need a 4mm lens (if 1/3")

You will also need an auto iris one if its for use outside (in a housing)

computar not a bad lens, not as good as a pentax or fujinon but infinetly better than the first

but a 6mm lens will give about a 4m scene width from a 6m distance to scene, so from what you said earlier not a wide enough focal length
