The thing about buying the right kit and fitting it according to manufacurers instructions & local bye laws is an issue for pro installers. We have to comply.

A DIYer may feel as its their property & kit they are exempt. BUT:

With alarm systems if your diy installation plays up you could be facing angry neighbours and a hefty bill.

Using a NO contact to sound a siren (for example) went out of fashion years ago, not least because its easy to bypass, but more importantly if the door stays open the siren keeps going.
