Standby Calculation

Featured Replies

Hi Fellas

just a quick one.

What is the equation for working out if the battery amps will be suficient to run the sytem for a 24hr period

cheers

john

total day mode current in A * 24 hours

so if day mode is .5A then >5 x 25 = 12A/h

Id also add 10% to allow for age of the battery @ 5 yrs

did you say day mode because you cant spell the Q word? :)

day mode amps x 24 add full alarm load x 1.25 = battery size

Where did you copy it from :)

I alaways get stuck on that one.

OP asked for 24hr standby.

Part 1 standard standby is 24hr, that time increases with regard to building being empty, say the weekend.

Part 6 is 72hrs, thats why i argue the point that smokes on intruder should have 72hr standby but no one wants to discuss this point.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

I'll need to check I thought all pt1 was min 72hr but happy to be wrong as tomorrow i'l then be right.

better to ask and look stoopid for a moment than not ask and be stoopid for life.

Your a happy chappy then :)

I agree with your sentiments.

Standby time usually depends on the category of system. L1-L4 usually 24hours will suffice, P1-P2 will require 72 hours. Both + 0.5 hours alarm time.
