2 Alarms On 1 Dialer

Featured Replies

Can you have 2 alarms on 1 dialer

Tried this with a Texecom R8 and Excel panel but the R8 would not dial??

Connected both on bell trigger , will try using the com outputs on the Excel

Anyone else any experience??

Thanks

Should be possible, you may need to common the negatives of both panels though.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Yes you can do it no problem, I have worked on largeish sites where multiple panels were connected to digital communicators.

As Breff says you will have to common the negatives assuming you are using positive trigger.

As Breff, obviously the dialler is getting 12v from one of the panels- I would assume that the panel that is getting the signal through is the one supplying the dialler-using a common 'ground'-it's probable that the other neg input has no referance to ground and as thus is just 'floating' as far as the dialler is concerned.
