8418 And Dm

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Found this site this morning, hope someone can assist. Putting a 8418 system together, the customer wants to use a DM unit and we dont normally use them. Looking through the manual this morning and it dosent say vmuch about the audio side of the system eg has it a built in amp? ( we normaly use Adpro or vista).

Any help would be gratefull.

If your using the dm for remote monitoring (id reconsider if your used to adpro but that just my opinion) then it has a line leverl audio output, this will need some sort of amp, the adpro's also have a line level out so you can use the same amps / horns etc.

You may need an alarm input module depending on what your doing and dont use the vmd features on an 8418 system

Thanks for the prompt reply, Only ever used vmd once, and once was enough!! Im trying to convince him of adpro but I think he's got one in his old place, you know what customers are like!!

Thanks again

great dvr, brilliant infact we use em.... but as a transmitter.... adpro fast tx everytime IMHO

But since the exlusive deal that was done between xtralis and norbain group we are activly seeking a suitable alternative.

But product wise from what i have tested nothing comes close to adpro for support, performance and arc support. But that deal is a 'deal' breaker for me lol

I'd agree with redbull. The Adpro p*ss*s on the DM for off site transmission. The DM netvu software at the central station end is poor in comparison to Vcentral. Put a DM system through to a CS and you can hear the groans from the operators in the back ground.

But in DM defence it has a much better end user DVR sytem than the Adpro as you are alway relying on a piece of software to talk to the Adpro wether that be remote or local both users have similar systems. Where as with the DM the user can have a keyboard to control their domes with LIVE monitor(not digitised as with adpro) a cd burn facilty and also the abilty to view locally over network also. Oh did I mention that the Dm comes with 2 serial ports for 2 different protocols(inc down the coax)

I have a good idea

The all new singing and dancing Adpro Fast Digital sprite

Monkey

Personally i like the Vista smartdisc.

I have used this on numerous occassions and have absolutely no problems with it.

Even the CS operators think its great as its so simple to use!!
