allenjames
Magpye and Lawandorder thanks for the suggestions. The thought had crossed my mind that the switch could also be used to kill the bells if i had a fault where i could not turn the panel off. As for "forgetting" to turn it back on afterwards - im not that senile yet. james.wilson
While it is possible to do this i for one dont think its a good idea. You 'could' switch the power to the piezo, or open the battery link with this switch, but as its going to be remote from the sounder, if the sounder was removed then when it broke the circuit of the batt link or the sounder then the sounder would cease. Far from ideal on an audible only system. If its signalling via a diital communicator or better then why not just use the bell without sab features, then when its disconnected it will stop but will report via the communicator. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. magpye
As for "forgetting" to turn it back on afterwards - im not that senile yet. Trust me, at sometime in the future it WILL get switched off and forgotten. Be it yourself, your wife, your kids, your grandchildren, the TV engineer, a plummer, a roofer, Uncle Tom, Cobbly and all, some one WILL switch it off and forget to switch it back on, either by accident or design. At the very least if you're not going to take advise and do the job almost every one here does not recommend, do this to protect yourself and family. A little extra thought and work now, could save a lot of heart ache in the future Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
