I'm guessing you mean the type of stuff used in the Petrochem industry?

I believe that Norbain used to supply a range of camera housings which were explosion proof so they may be able to help you, might also be worth looking at the RS Components Website, they do quite a bit of stuff for hazardous environments.

Thanks for answer,

Yes ;) I talk about 'intrinsically safe' detection.

For gas (methane) stations, for petroleum industry.

Norbain do explosion proof cameras, as far as anything else goes im not sure as most of em are plastic, the other thing to remember is although the detectors may be explosion proof the cable wont be unless everything is armoured

Try this link they do atex pirs http://www.net-safety.com/products/irmotion_detectors.html

Sentrol make detectors for explosive atmospheres, as had been commented, the device and cable should be supplied through IS barriers to limit the discharge of energy etc etc , check out the DSERA regs as well
