Ade Optima Compact Panel

Featured Replies

Dear all,

Have just installed a the above unit, gone into engineer prog mode (like the manual says).

Keyed in zero to commence walk test and then the unit makes an intermittent beeping sound, with all 8 LEDs glowing.

Something is not right here as the manual indicates that the 8 LEDs should be off and would come on when one walks in front of the respective PIR unit.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem. :(

Many thanks

Also, I would like to point out that I have 5 no. PIRs wired to the panel.

1 PIR per zone.

cheers:ninja:

Do you have power at your detectors?

Thanks for your prompt response

All 5 PIRs will glow when you walk passed them so (and turn off after a few seconds) - so yes I would assume that power is going to all detectors.

have you wired the panel end correctly? Take all your cables out of the zones and install links in them, then try it again, if it clears you have the wired the panel incorrectly.

Hi iSTORM,

Well, pleased top say it works....(or at least the first zone is wired up - using the link as suggested) and the walk test functions as it should.

Will carry on with the other zones in the same manner and this should be problem solved.

Many many thanks.

no no, no.

The zone will not work with the link left in, it will not activate if the alarm is set.

istorm ment put the link in as a test, by doing this you have proven you have wired the sensors incorrectly.

you need to find your alarm pair.

what colour cores have you wired into the two PIR alarm terminals[C,NC], you need to put the same two colours in the zone terminals at the panel.

just clarify please - do you have the circuit cables AND the link connected at the same time?

imo it's pretty obvious you have misunderstood the basic instructions supplied and tried to run before crawling which when doing something new is usually fatal.

so do as earlier advised, remove all zone cabling and refit the links, then test to see if the panel arms properly, if not resolve this issue 1st.

re-install cables one zone at a time (removing the links one at a time) and test for correct setting at every stage,

Taking 1 step at time I had 1 pr of PIR of cables connected WITH the link installed and it worked fine.

Will carry on the same proceedure one zone at a time.
