February 19, 200818 yr comment_191068 Plastic contacts on Ali Doors and Frames is never a good idea as it can interfere with the pull of the magnet and create high resistance within the cct ,causing a failure to operate properly. Yeah...right!! Ali has NO effect on magnets...and plastic even less! Ferrous metals are what you need to worry about when you are using magnets - oh, and some grades of Stainless Steel are magnetic depending if they are work-hardened or annealed grades. Get it screwed on! The other option which I have used to good effect on occasions is a heat-glue gun (currently a fiver from Aldi I think!)
