Real Need For Adpro?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Just a quick question regarding monitored CCTV. Is there any need for a Adpro Fast Scan unit if your using a DVR with network connection. Does the Adpro unit send pictures at a quicker rate or if over IP would it be the same rate as the DVR. DVR is DM unit.

Although they both record camera images, the Fast Scan is designed for use in recording unattended sites, so there are many facilities within the Fast Scan unit that are missing in the typical DVR. (alarm handling, remote management etc)

On the other hand the Fast Scan does not do things like multi screen display output.

The transmission rate is limited to the network design, but as the Fast Scan is designed for only remote operation, the transmission of images is optimised for remote links.

Wouldn't of thought you would need to install both.

The Adpro fasttrace has now taken over the fastscan because it's a DVR aswell. So the fasttrace units are the best alround.

Setup would be primary communications over IP and secondary backup via PSTN.

Hi,

Just to confirm that the while the Fastscan is still supported (by us and most central stations) it is now an obsolete system. This has been replaced by the FastTx (for transmission only) and the Fastrace (for both transmisson and DVR). Both this units have DM's Sprite protocol to control the telemtry and therefore can be installed together.

With regard to the trasmission speeds, this of course depends on the communications used and the complexity of the data being transmitted (sterile static scenes will trasmit faster than a PTZ on a tour for example).

cheers.
