Dude that may be true. But it was also in writing on their website that you did not need to have SR40. You only need to commit to it without the need to be audited. But when I sent in my application they said I needed to be audited for SR40

well we can both agree on one thing then cant we, the psa doestn know its head from its rear!!! Their coming down on peple like a ton of brick in the other aspects of the industry yet try to get some solid information or proper documentation from the website and forget about it! CCTV - key standards.

BS 7958: 1999 CCTV MANAGEMENT & OPERATION

BS EN50132-1 CCTV SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS(PENDING)

BS EN50132-7: 1996 CCTV SRVEILANCE SYSTEMS FOR USE IN SECURITY APPLICATIONS

BS8418: 2003 INSTALATION & REMOTE MONITORING OF DETECTOR ACTIVATED CCTV SYSTEMS

CCTV systems - codes of practice

NACOSS NACP 20

THIS CODE OF PRACTICE IS NOW GENERALLY SUPERCEDED BY BRITTISH / EUROPEAN STANDARDS, BUT STILL CONTAINS USEFULL GUIDANCE.

Also dont forget the DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998 and the HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 1998. Five main points it covers are

- registration

- signage

- system design

- recording

- security of data

im sure all the cctv guys know all this stuff but thought the rest of you might find this helpfull.
