Whats The Daftest/funniest Thing Your Apprentice Has Done

Recommended Posts

Our new apprentice has so far...

Whilst changing a bell box, thought it was a good idea to cut the wire short and push it back in the hole lol, thank god we were able to a replace the cable

Managed to lock the room key in the hotel, whilst we were staying away

Fortunately I caught this one just in time, set him a challenge to run a cable - long story short he was about 20 seconds away from drilling a nice 12mm hole through the ceiling... and the flat roof lol

He'll get there eventually, he's got a good attitude and that's what matters :)

lol, not that bad then. I would say cutting the cable was the dumbest.

Its quite funny thinking back to when it happened

Me: "Here's the connections how to wire it up"

<5 minutes later>

Him: "There's no wire"

lol

Funny you mention apprentices, having fun at the moment...

One of our apprentices' managed to topple his ladders and land-on/knock-over a 35 litre fish tank (with fish in) putting a DT up.

This was in the reception of a commercial building!

Also today our latest starter took 3 1/2 hours to put up a bell box, drilled 15 fixing holes and the bell was still on the slant.

Oh, he's trained and passed out of college.

You all have to start somewhere.

lol! christ

The last proper apprentice related disaster was with a subbie and his apprentice, he was fitting a heat detector in the canteen area, over reached off his steps, they went one he went the other and landed on a £1000+ hotplate smashing all the glass and bending all the framework, customer let them off!? lol

Same lad, same job, working in the ladies toilets which has a latch on the door, locks the keys inside so he kicked the door through lol

I would sack anyone that did 15 fixings for a bell, non starter.

I see what you mean, first ever bellbox tho, so we'll see how to next one goes.

Nice, can't believe they were let off!

Fortunately in the fish tank disaster the tank was fine but he spend the rest of the day filling the thing up with a 2 litre coke bottle.

The only cost was a dehumidifier for a week and 36 new floor tiles.

No fish were harmed in the fitting of this system (written on the top off the paperwork in the panel) lol

Apparently they weren't going to use it, they proper kicked off about the door he kicked in though, not surprising really though

Were you working with him when it happened? I hope you nicknamed him fishy lol

The note on the paperwork is a nice touch
