We've all tried to do things that are:

in the mind, a brilliant idea

on paper are feasible

and in practice are difficult to achieve with reliability

Although it is possible to get an alarm to turn on lights, boil the kettle, turn on the heating, open and close windows, blinds or electric gates

you should ask yourself, is it really really neccessary?

Previously, I have had over 60 zones in my house, with almost every "good idea" installed (often in part)

Now at home I apply the same method statement as I do for my customers' installations

K . I . S . S .

Customer satisfaction = improved

Delivering customer's expectations = 100%

Failures to complete installation on time = near zero

Grief from girlfriend = no longer related to the alarm!
