Been on Operation Taboo Speed Awareness course today

Has anybody been on it -

Yes (94mph on M4 - Naughty Boy)

But aside from being a bad lad. I congratulate Somerset & Avon Police for taking a sensible attitude towards educating drivers rather than points and financial penalties.

Having just spent a fortune on private driving safety courses for our drivers and not really gaining much.

I am considering asking if I can send all my staff on the course. well worth the

Friend of mine has been on something similiar, he's got 3 kids and after being shown the footage of what a speeding car can do to a child he came out crying, along with half the other people there.

i think, personally something like this should be done before people take their test.

I agree, haven't been on the course myself but know to several who have.

Each person on there first driving test should be handed a Video/DVD on the dangers of driving.

Showing them a car is a lethal weapon, not a toy.

The standard driving test is a breeze compared to the HGV test. All tests should be to HGV standard

A few years back company sent us all on a driving course run be ex police drivers. You see things in a totally different perspective then

it should be shown to them before their theory test, then at least you know they have seen it. before i did my helicopter training. i was shown a video about how dangerous a helicopter could be. belief me respect was not the word, i never approach a helicopter unless the pilot says so and i certainly go no where near the tail rotor when it is spinning. as far as driving goes before i did alarms, i was a trucker and seen many accidents, certainly improved my respect for the motor vecihle.
