How Do I Put A Delay On A Zone?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a optima (4zone) basic alarm system. I have just moved in to my new home and the alarm system has four zones front door, back door, pir living room and panic in the bedroom. The alarm is set to sound instant as soon as the front door is open,

Can anyone tell me how I can put a 20-30 second delay on zone 4 (front door) as the alarm is useless as we only use the front door.

Please help!

Thank You.......

Michael.

Both James and Whistle are correct.. In that Zone 4 cannot be given an entry/exit delay.. But you will find that the back door is zone 1 and has this feature..

Simply swapping over zone 4 and zone 1 wiring in your control panel will reverse the properties of those zones, thus making zone 1 (front door) the entry/exit zone and zone 4 (back door) will become an instant zone.

If in any doubt as to your abillity to do this yourself seek assistance from an alarm engineer.
