Sure fire way of keeping beasties off the PIRs is to rub some Vicks around the edge of the case. The menthol will keep them away.

Obviously, don't get it on the lens.

In terms of the best detector for immunity in the first place, it's a toss up between RX40s or the Guardall V12.
