September 13, 200619 yr comment_119817 Close - that's actually done over a network/crossover cable. We use HT/serial comms to do setup that can't be done on the on screen display - for example - setting the IP address when there's no software on the unit, or no OSD (e.g.- DV-IPs which have no main monitor output). -- psumner@dmicros.com Manufacturer Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11879-what-is-hyper-terminal-how-do-you-use-it/page/2/#findComment-119817 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 April 9, 200719 yr comment_162506 Provided you set the baud rate up you can use it to view printer outputs and store them on your lappy to compare should you need to.Pretty versatile program. need a 'null modem' lead for that We use a standard gardtec printer lead with a gender changer. Would like some less hastle software though Edited April 9, 200719 yr by Paul P Trade Member Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11879-what-is-hyper-terminal-how-do-you-use-it/page/2/#findComment-162506 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
