Guest improveddc
Hi all, I currently have a Eurosec alarm 'professionally' installed, i have however noticed that the battery backup on my system is not working. If i turn off the alarm at the mains the control panel simply turns off, and loses date etc. Thus i assume no battery or a dead battery is installed into the main box. My first question is, if i take the cover off the box to check the battery will the alarm go off as a tamper? Secondly can anyone tell me what sort of battery i will need, and point me to good places to get them ideally on the internet? Its a eurosec alarm panel the LCD one CPL8 i think, and a standard installation. Thanks in advance Dan Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11680-eurosec-battery-backup/ Share on other sites

When you turn off the electricity to the control panel does the external sounder activate? Guest improveddc
When you turn off the electricity to the control panel does the external sounder activate? I don't know to be honest, i have had one power cut when at work so havnt been able to tell. The other time i turned the main to it off it was already sounding, due to my code to disable it not working. So i don't know not sure if i need to find out? It sounds like you may have other issues as well as a faulty/missing battery, I would get it profesonaly checked over to be on the safe side. I don't think there are other issues, the code was explainable as my landlord used a different one, and i had at the time only got the engineers code, thus i couldnt disable it. However it is all now set-up - i reallyjust need to know what kind of battery to buy so i can fit it into the alarm??? Anyone, i imagine people on here install them all the time and have to know what battery they put in, it may even be generic across many alarm systems?? I know already there are choices of different hours length of backup? Service Engineer
Probably a 12v 7ah battery. But might also be the 3Ah version.!! Wooly-bobs
If its losing time and date it would seem there is more to fault than a missing battery, the Eurosec has a NVM like all new panels and shold keep its memory. I'd suggest a warranty callout from the installer if its new enough, other than that I'd get the owner to pay for it to be sorted. Adi
Probably a 12v 7ah battery. But might also be the 3Ah version.!!Online from: AH Supplies & GX Security This has got to be the smallest panel on the market, depending how many zones are used and how neatly it was cabled you could be struggling to fit a 7 amp batt. I must be one of a few who does not like this panel. It will be better when the metal end station and new keypad finally get released but i shouldnt hold breath for it. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
