arfur mo
How do you work out the manufacture date on sealed lead acid batterys ? and do people still change them after 5 years. min come clearly marked but i mark the instal date with a permanate marker pen so the client can clearly see it. usually 2 max 3 years and out for me, why fart about or even bother testing it for the sakes of 10 quid? regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! Guest
or get a good deal and get em free with every panel gardtec are still good for somthing either your deal or batteries are bad then.. even if they would bet batteries for free fro china still there are transportation and storaging expences.. one of our suppliers also has batteries included but those batteries were not worth of extra rate in transportation so asked them to leave the batteries off our deliveries.. arfur mo
power sonic 3.4 amp, guess that blows your theory out of the water, somtimes we end up with the gardtec/rokonet ones, but still decent.just good negotiators hi MAYCO i stopped taking the black batteries from Gardtec as i was getting 1 or 2 duff ones in a box, the red powersonic ones are far better and i a good price. my view on batteries was for service visits (i don't run contracts but agreements), if they call they then pay after i have visited. if they don't call me for a maintenance (and some don't for what ever reason) and i'm to busy to chase then i don't get paid not having done the work. its possible they may not get serviced for 2 - 3, so better to kick the battery when i get the chance. i operate this way because i worked for several companies in the days when a battery fed systems were still arround, those which signalled should have been visited 4 times a year, but they were lucky to get 2. a 12 volt system, as today twice a year if signalling. invariably they got less and the client still paid. if they did challeng i'd have to say something like 'thats never happened before - the filing system must have got cocked up' and appologise, it just felt so dishonest as it was not a cheap r&m contract. if i were running contracts i'd still change at 2 years lets face it they tend to go 'off' after this time, also if the client moves out (but leaves the local power supply on), an area mains fail will not cause a difficult situation due to no access and no client to bill. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! If they are Yuasa, the first two digits of the serial number stamped on the top represent the year of manufacture. Don't know about any others...
