I was wondering if anyone knows of a generic module that I can plug into most DVR

Hi Spud,

If your DVR can do an ftp upload or e-mail via broadband, it's straightforward to generate a txt. Of course, this depends on having a broadband connection at the monitored site versus the cost of a gsm modem and the mobile subscription.

There are many ways to skin a rabbit (or so they say!)

If your DVR has email alerts you can fire of an email you can use this feature to then send an SMS. It works as follows;

1- The DVR gets an alarm input

2- The DVR sends an email.

3- The email account (like yahoo) receives the email

4- The email account sends an SMS to say the email has arrived and often includes its header.

This has a few advantages.
