  1. Thanks. Can get one for free as Argos giving me £10 voucher for spending over £100 and they got an 8gb card for £9.99. Result !
  2. What type does it take ? Ultra micro or just micro ?
  3. Sounds like I'm buying Texecom panel !
  4. Well the garmin is reserved and waiting to be picked up today. Await a load of questions cubit ! As said have only had tom tom since they came out many years ago. Hope they similar in the way they operate.
  5. Have taken the plunge and reserved one for pick up tomorrow.
  6. Must be made for alarm engineers in mind then ! The one you have does the mount stay on glass and you just remove device or do you always have to remove the device with the mount also ?
  7. A colleague had the cheaper one and says it's a good device apart from he can't find a way to disable the poi enabled on device. Now most probably it's him just being thick ? Think your right and I should just treat myself
  8. They are the 2 I've been looking at. Doing a compare side by side i can't see where the £120 difference is between the 2 units. Only main difference as you say is the screen ?
  9. Prefer a standalone windscreen mount. Been happy with my tom Tom but traffics services have just run out and it's nearly £50 to re activate for a year. Friend bought the new go5000 which has lifetime free updates but had to take it back as kept on dropping service and tom tom are aware of it and are working on a fix for it. Further research says they've been working on a fix for last 5 months !!
  10. Time to look for a new sat nav. Have had Tom Tom ones for many years just curious as to any you guys can recommend.
  11. Didn't you offer to drive them back to their "car"
  12. Last I heard was Chubb was taking them from romec.
  13. When we had the contract pabs were fitted in the beer wines and spirits isles. They are only a local alarm which go to customer service desk. Idea is if a member of staff saw someone upto no good. Your most probably notice they have 3 different coloured strobes at the desk to which flash when pressed. One for bws one for cash office and one for tills.
  14. Standard 3 bedroom house. Carpet in hallway only chipboard floor not floorboards. Wooden floor stairs and wooden floor landing and rooms upstairs. Panel in cupboard under stairs. Please tell me how you would contact front door ? Please don't tell me you would do a bt style and clip cable to skirting board. As said I always lift floorboards where possible as as you said saves possible grief in future but to say running a cable under a carpet is cowboy give the op the wrong impression.
  15. Sometimes you have no choice but to run cables under carpet especially In new build style houses. I don't think there's anything cowboy about doing that if done correctly. There are still many a job out there 20 years plus that have cables under carpets. Yes ideally you try not to do as many people wanting to change from carpet to wooden floors these days and to avoid the dreaded carpet fitter Stanley blade
