  1. Hi all

Got a Gardtec panel that has 2 panic alarm wireless fobs as zones 92 and 93

When customer started setting procedure - alarm wouldn't set and got a alert message on one of the panic fobs - wouldn't reset with engineers code and kept into 'alert! Enter code' or something to that effect. It leads me to think the panel thinks the fob is being pressed due to a fault and won't set as a result - all the alarm reset codes are either 'any code' or 'engineers code' so I don't think there's a different code that I don't know for PA reset. Wondered if any one has had similar issues? Or have any info

    Regards

I would have thought you'd do the first detector as entry, then time set would be enough time to allow the detector to settle say 30 seconds then it depends how far keypad/prox is from the detector so say 20-30 seconds

Sorry yes first dt is set to entry (exit is the one to be used with a push button?)

Yeah, think 30 secs for the timer on setting - kp is in the entrance lobby and the dt is in the lobby set to ENTRY.

It's the wiring regs, covers any wiring up to LV.

I don't think they aim to be vague they aim to be concise and clear.

One issue I do have is all these standards are set for good practices and safety reasons, cost decent money to buy but they refer to so many other regs in each other you would be bankrupt if you bought everyone that is referenced.

I refer to regs only to follow the changes-- the big ones recently being fire resistant fixings for all surface mtd cabling in or out of non metal containment in commercial installs, afdds which I still don't fully get.

There's some car charger stuff. Would you use lsf b/a cable on a commercial install even if not specced?

As I understand it they are moving towards cabling being at least LSZH and not allowing plastic containment to be used in the next amendment of BS7671.

Not only due to failing of containment/fixings during a fire but due to toxic fumes and poor vision when trying to escape. I mention this for those using YT2 galv support clips.

I think there is still room for innovation in fire proof fixings for all surfaces, unfortunately cheapest options always win.

Never used low smoke b/a cable. We would go low smoke for all other cables in commercial installs t+e, flexes etc.. . I suppose bs7671 covers elv systems or does it? Those regs can be very vague.

Like the look of those fire clips where you just drill a hole and hit em In.

If port forwarding for use with the GX app, you can only lock down the RSS and UMS passwords with RSS at the moment.   In saying that, the best advice is to use a VPN rather than opening ports up.

They also specced a gsm/gprs comms module - we are setting up radio/radio Dualcom for keyholder monitoring, I take it there's no need for the honeywell module as well?

Hi,  dont have the RSS. Can't justify the cost as we don't do a lot of galaxy.

One question, got an ip module that's been specced - would that just connect to customers network to be able to use the app?
