  1. Yes it does appear to be very good kit.

I did ask why they only sell direct and never received a answer.  Speaking to other contractors / wholesales it might be something to do with an anti competition clause from when the management were at Texecom, but that is just hearsay.

    Hi David.

There is a procedure for resetting a password, this has a few security checks in it to establish who owns the DVR. The security checks are there to prevent genuine DVR owners having their DVRs security being compromised by a third party.

Similarly, the security checks helps prevent DVRs that are on maintenance agreement with an installer being taken over without the original installers agreement. As the Eko is an old model I don't think this would be the case.

Step one will be to get the DVRs serial number. To do this look at the rear of the DVR and you should find it on a small label. If you can not find the label simply switch off the DVR and reboot it with a monitor attached, during the boot up the AlienDVR will display its serial number and model, note these down. With this data ring “Robert” at System Q Ltd and he will guide you through the process.

Telephone  01246 200 000 press Option 6 -ask for Robert

    Paul.

Great, unless the owner brought the DVR and you have to get the to reset it..... Got that T-shirt!!

  3. Thanks for the replies, looking through our job system (pages of it!!) it looks like we've tried most things.

My thoughts are that it isn't ONIVF compliant or uses a proprietary version of, as Foscam (in some listings) claim it has ONVIF capabilities. I don't think we can change the login string on the NVR, also it looks like we have tried various software based tools where you can specify a string and I assume that didn't work either.

I'll look for a polite way to tell the customer he has been done,  I get the feeling he paid a lot more than the £99 (still expensive for what you get!) price I've just googled.

    Thanks again for the replies.

  4. We've recently taken over a site that is mainly Wbox & Hik but with a Foscam dome.

No matter what we try we can't get the Foscam FI8919W to work.  Hik & Adata NVR's state Username or Password Error.  We can access the camera via internet explorer and have tried copying and pasting the username and password from IR to the NVR but it still won't work.  We've tried defaulting it a few times also also tried setting up different user accounts.

Unfortunately the customer is unwilling to change the dome for a proper brand as less than a year ago he "paid a lot for it".

We haven't got any experience with Foscam and have tried contacting their "support" who are as about as helpful as a chocolate fireguard and insist we are using incorrect login details.

Anyone offer any ideas.... apart from the obvious of put it where it belongs... the bin!

But don't be like the d**k I've been dealing with that blames his other half when the item ends at 99p and refuses to post unless I give him more money so it's 'at it's true value'.

I assume he's used ebay message to buyer?  If so I'd report him.

Ha, well, I guess who is the customer to question, is the Accenta a Grade 2 alarm? I can see why the customer believed him, because the panel says G4 on the front, of course it is Generation 4 Software it's running, like its predecessor, the G3

Not really familiar with them I assumed they were Grade 1 but it's possible there are Grade 2 / 2x

    Open Close list.tiff

From CONXTD you can select a filter just to show all Open/Close events and this will give you the text associated. I've attached a screenshot of a report from the past 2 weeks with all OP/CLs from our office.

End user can have this and manage. May be worth you having a look at the thread on the topic in this area?

Looks good.... Better for customers than the weekly email from the ARC.

    Might have to try it
