  1. Hi, Is it mandatory to issue an NSI cert on a take-over once the system checks out ok & becomes under your company banner (maintenance contract)? Or if any modifications/extensions to systems are made does a cert get reissued? Kind Regards,
  2. Any ideas if a Dahua HD-CVI DVR can stream to the cloud for offsite storage?
  3. Not on the locks I use... Red unlocked, green is engaged.
  4. Guys - quick curious question... What is it within a monitored maglock that determines the light to go either green or red? I had a door that seemed lock but didn't turn green, when it grabbed tighter to the magnet the light turned green which is correct. I was just wondering what mechanism it uses within the maglock to determine if it is fully secure or not.
  5. Guys, New to the monitoring side of things so have a quick question... I have a scenario where I have 1 x Galaxy 48... with one emizon unit sending PA, Int, Confirm etc through to the ARC... It has multiple PA's on the Galaxy - do I need two URN's for the PA side of things or one to cover the whole site? Thanks,
  6. Hi - unsure this is posted in the right section... I'm after an email address for Warwickshire alarm administration please (filing a URN application, struggling to get hold of them via the phone + used there "contact us" page with no luck). Cheers,
  7. Hi all, Can anyone identify this fingerprint reader please?
  8. Ok so there's no different variants of an "iClass fob"...? i.e. 16k bit or 32k bit. (not sure on what this means or even if it makes a difference operationally I just saw the difference on the web and thought id ask.
  9. I can see that the fob is a HID iClass fob... My question is - is there many variants of this fob? Customer is looking for replacements - am I going to need to get a picture of the reader or is there one HID iClass fob type?
  10. Could do but the end box's are still a vulnerability? Security screws maybe but majority of the time they are a waste of effort.
  11. Am I right in thinking no cable whatsoever can be wired outside of the internal protected area? I have a scenario that has a corridor with multiple rooms which span off, I was hoping to locate all access controllers in one server room, this would cause an issue wiring through different rooms to each door... Would it have to be wired so each access area is higher than the one before? OR is that irrelevant and no cable should be ran through different areas to reach the final door?
  12. Seems to fit the bill... http://www.riscogroup.com/products/solution/51034
  13. Hi, Need a subby or team of subby's, we're based in midlands but work is UK wide... PAC/DM/Galaxy knowledge ideally.... PM if interested...
  14. Isn't that why I'm asking.....? I'm asking because I don't know why it would be permitted or why it wouldn't be....
  15. Why wouldn't what? Is that an answer to "Is this permitted" or "do the unswitched fused spur need to be present"?
  16. Is this permitted? I have a rack mounted power supply yet the rack only have a bank of sockets installed. Does a unswitched fused spur always need to be present even in these circumstances? *edit* by the way this will be the supply for X amount of cameras....
  17. I have a client who wants to run a security network test on a dahua NVR before it sits on there network... Anyone have any experience of there resilience? Im actually worried what they might find and what's involved!
  18. Doesn't sound any different to subcontracting...
  19. Good to hear ... I like there CMS too, looks professional yet easy enough to use. I don't like genie ... Not got a main reason I just do - nothing I can put my finger on but dislike it as a brand.
  20. Is Dahua suitable for big IP installations and does anyone have any experience using there 256CH NVR? Seems they are low end of the market in some peoples eyes but they have the scope to do the big installs too....? Never used them for big installs but there low end kit seems good. If not - what are the leading brands for a decent size IP installation?
