  1. You can 100% have 1080P on CVI and the Dahua kit is 100% spot on. CVI is good, Cop are a good supplier too.
  2. I've read through the quality care commission document but it doesn't give me anything to go by. Stick to communal areas and signage!
  3. Hi Are there any different rules on CCTV use in care homes?
  4. System Displays > Site Name will be what the customer see's if they get a text. I call it 'home' or whatever you fancy. >Sign on messgae = Text customer sees when panel not site (company name etc..) If you set display when set then the panel will light red what area is set also show the text on screen for the user.
  5. Second above, be extremly careful with the braid and core, happened to me only last weekend! Won't be reserve polarity as it would stop the other 3 from working. That looks like cabling issue, and if you've used that cabling before i'd point my finger at connectors. Have you tried sending a pattern down it? If so what are the results?
  6. Welcome, thouht about a potiental bank loan..
  7. TBF, Visonic Tech are helpful and they would probably try to help!
  8. We're based in Romford, if you wanted a survey carried out drop us a line!
  9. Never looked into it! Battery life cant be good if it's got IR's / WiFi running.
  10. 1 Haha, I just can't turn work down.
  11. Eh? The siren is wireless too, literally AC mains to the panel and off you go! I'm going to be honest, I serviced a Yale system a few weeks ago, it was easy. Changed all the batts too, but they was just standard Alkaline batteries! A intruder alarm needs to be relaible and with that Li-ion batteries should be used too. At the end of the day, it is DIY and as professional installers shouldnt we be promoting equipment that has years of R+D and capitial plouged into it?
  12. Visonic kit is good, albeit 1 way and slighlty looming in the past but Pyronix gear is better though, 2 way, better diagnotics due to this and home (British) made with good tech support. Mind can't slate Visonic as their support has been good in the past!
  13. OP I mean no disrespect here but as an apprentice you tend to not have a vast amount of experience. If this is going to be your bread and butter you gotta be good, can you take over a Castle panel one day, then work witha Pyronix / Visonic the next? Do you fully understand IP cctv and networking? Wiring locks and the diiferent access panels on the market? I think the issue now is theres a lot of installers, all going for the same work but customers don't want to part with their cash. This is where you start seeing the Swann's and the Yales everywhere, that's killing local work. I'm a one man band, 25, estate car, signed up, advertise online, flyer and word of mouth but I still don't have enough work for full time! If you can make it work, do it. But it isnt easy, not by a long shot.
  14. What issues you had with contacts? We use Visonic and Pyronix. Both good!
  15. Prime, dry, then spray! Not too close mind, or you'll learn the hard way...
  16. What set do you use? I've got the same issue!
  17. We use COP installing Dahua which is cheaper than Hik. Both are good.
  18. 2.73 p/h as an apprentice... modern day slavery?
