  1. Hi and Welcome, your be busy in slough
  2. I noticed the usa have no external sounders
  3. Was is it a wired EWD (bell/siren), if wired did he run the cable,
  4. You do need a laptop, and the apn program from texe, also a udl lead, the apn can be found online for the provider of the sim if its ee,vodafone,o2, others are there as well, some providers dont need a user name and password but this should be with the sim info if needed. programming it only takes about 1 min and its saved in the GSMcom so even when powered down keeps the info. If the customer is to supply the sim you will need to tell him if he has one that has a fixed ip he can remote access it but if he has just got a vodafone,o2,tesco,EE one he can not remote into it. I hope this helps
  5. I a tamper proof box so to speak, I would advise against tin foil and would go with a texecom 48 control unit, lots of room in the bottom if you on have a 7ah battery. I am of course joking.
  6. I agree with the op. I would, I think it also shows its being looked after and serviced so is working (maybe )

The local electrician near to me said adding a fuse connection unit is ok as long as you do all the tests and paperwork. He also said he would show me what needed doing. Which is also what i was told on the tavcom mains compliance training. I was also told being competant is about showing you have done training and been shown and can show you can do all the tests. You do need a meggar tester (thats a brand name) fluke also do one If the site failed the earth test for instance you would need to abort untill a sparky had fixed any faults you found before your install Adding a new circuit is also sparky land i.e fitting new cable to a new mcb Also you cannot add to a circuit without a RCD you have to test the RCD, which you have to test trip's correctly using your slighty expensive new toy (meggar or Fluke others are available) This is all i have been told on a course or in person, I like to listen and make sure what i am going to do i do correctly. I now have a part p tester which is great, I checked my earth and RCD and they work fine so my flat should burn down yet unless i cook something I suspect sparky's would like to keep doing even minor works as it's money in their pockets not yours
  11. I bet the red mist after, I have bad luck, or people in surrey and hampshire cannot drive,
  12. I have a dash cam, I so far recorded a person on a push bike on his phone go though a red light nearly hit a car turning right, and last night a women in a mini cut me up, then nearly hit a person crossing the road and then jumped a red light. But so far every crash i have been in i have been stopped and they hit me from behind so the dash cam not much help I also witnessed a van driver reverse into a lady on a roundabout in a service area and said at the time it was his fault and when he phoned the insurance company it seemed to turn into being her fault. :- i sent them my dash cam footage they seemed very happy
  13. I have to ask. A bus is quite big did you not see it, or was it just the fit lady walking passed :-
  14. one problem with option 1 is they don't work in a power cut. Which might cause missed comms to the monitoring station. I also suspect know one has even tried due to this reason. option 2 how big is the main control box (CIE) which will need mains electric. ( I do know how big it is. ) I would think its in current location to keep it safe and out the way. Option 3 the sensors will be wireless but will still be hard wired in to the phone line. So I am with the others on the GSM/GPRS advice.
