  1. Never go with the RAC for van insurance. Had someone crash into the back of me F.....G the van up. Spent 6HOURS on the phone through the day trying to process the accident, being passed from different company / department only to be told by the people who sort out the repair and replacement vehicle that they wont do anything until they have fully investigated the claim. Wasn't even my fault!

The guy who crashed in to me was with LV, so took up their offer of sorting it all out. 30 min later all sorted.

  2. I have a site that would like a panel in the hallway, there are no sockets in the hall that I can get to for the spur, however on the other side of the wall there is a socket in the kitchen.

Would taking the power from the kitchen be classed as part P, as I am not adding any power in the kitchen, just spurring off to a non special location.

  3. Hi all, I have a site that has 8 analogue cameras. They are connected by cat 5e using all in one video and power baluns,

Ive  had 3  problems with cameras just dropping out. Each time it has been a case of replacing the balun.

The only reason I can think of is that 2 months ago one of the external waterproof boxes leaked and buggered the balun up. i replaced it and shortly after the psu died, possibly due to the balun outside shorting power out out.

All the ones that have failed since are internal, and are secure in enclosures.

Anyone had a problem like this before? Any ideas?

  5. Fitted a few of the lightsys 2 they seem ok, much easier to programme if you do it via laptop.

You will have to fit a gsm unit if you want to send texts.  If you want it to send voice messages you will need to fit a voice module.
