Who says you dont learn new stuff every day! So your saying volt testing lead acid batteries doesn't give a good indication, but lithium would? How would you best test a PIR battery then?

I've taken over a visonic system, owner has no idea when it was serviced. Which leads me to ask the question, how often should they be changed? (CR123, Bell etc?) I meter the batt and change if below 2.8v but rule of thumb?

Guys Myself and my colleague are taking the plunge to go self employed and sub, we are looking at a rate of £350 P/D Honestly, is this a good rate? We don't want to charge too much and be greedy but same token not charge enough if the industry will pay more for quality time served engineers. Thanks in advance

DPA? So as long as one got permission from the council then cameras can be sited on street furniture? (lamp posts etc) Why would they say no?

Could one install a camera on a council street lamp (with permission) overlooking public garages (all neighbors) and display a sign?

Hi All Question is: What is the score with a camera filming people / vehicles in a car park / street? Obviously signage with a telephone number, but can a camera just be installed anywhere?

I see what your saying, it's tough everywhere though? There must be ways for people to survive as self employed, what I mean is there's lots of plumbers who are 1 man bands but compete with the 'big boys' as such. Thanks for your info.

Good day people, wish to get advice from people in the know. First up, im a fully qualifed security engineer with a BTEC in security systems. I've got 8 years expreince in dealing with mostly commercial CCTV solutions. However I wish to branch out on my own and become a independent installer. Can I get advice from you for good public liability companies (how much should it cost?) and ways to advertise? Also do I need to be accredited by SSAIB or Nacoss? Thanks in advance!!
