  1. They didn't see my point of view at all which was if it is compliant then it isn't for the certification body to dictate how that compliance is met. That said not having the badge is no barrier whatsoever to what we want to do. In many ways it enhances it not having it but in the spirit of doing things properly . . .
  2. Funny you should mention that. I share the view if inspected and they meet standards, as a certification body SSAIB (not nsi) would be able to say no or they could face trouble however I have my own discussions with SSAIB at the minute where they refuse to give us a badge despite being compliant with a scheme because we aren't doing it in a traditional way. I pushed back to them on the grounds that as long as it was compliant on what grounds were try saying no. Discussions continuing . . .
  3. Yes, in da rules! What is the new company name they trade under? Red hot alarms could be quite catchy . . .
  4. It was allowed in a bygone day to have 2 detectors so close together. I remember seeing it at an install and I complained to SSAIB only to be told DD243:2002 allowed it but in the 2004 version onwards it isn't.
