It's no better than a Friedland Response in these terms.
It's a lot about branding, it looks nice, it costs nothing so it's a no brainer for those who can't/won't look to deep.

What is your trade?
Lol..
My advise is fit whatever makes you the most buttons, sorry money from the install as it doesn't sound like you'll ever see any revenue from them.
You'd be better off getting a local firm to do them and bung you 50 for each job.

we have 5 on the trunking note each smoke has a separate support calculated x twice the weight. the units are all second user and worked well at the height on previous building. Offices are on confirm group 00 warehouse is confirm group 01, smoke fires on confirm 01 not separate detection from arm output.
Haven't done any bandits for a long time and need to do 2 on a shop floor next week ( sub) - last time I did one was Jessops in Brighton and turfed out ( when testing) he floors above as nothing on fire panel to indicate it linked to other systems!!

Trunking by us to support and contain Mains and ELV to 360o DT and smoke gens. Has YTS for segregation,
Beams starting high and going low level, then we have door contact and PIR over each entrance and the ali tube on the wider walls is T configured. the plywood sheets are also our spec.
these wired jobs are still available.
Mains board to be fitted by others.
Curious how well it would work up there? I would have thought at floor level would fill quicker?

comes from earning no money, not having any money to do anything with and the companies having no USPS so the only thing they can compete with other installers is price.
Not here, I'm just bored of it because it's boring.

*cough* videofied has wired inputs.
Double standards! Detectors must be hard wired but wireless non complaint signalling will be fine.
ok, fair point. sort of. it must be compliant otherwise they wouldn't sell it as a compliant product - even if that compliance is self-certed.. if their self-cert is not accurate or true then surely the other signalling firms would kick up a fuss?
regardless of the comms the fundamental system needs to be reliable and the only way to achieve that is to install to a high standard a cabled system. that audible only system will do the job for which most end users want it to do. those who don't require any comms for insurance can be up-sold to key holder using a product which does not cause us headaches and makes us money.
yeah but your proper alarm trade,
bet you'd want to do the alarm with CMC's, flush kepads & signalling ect you oddball.....
in all honesty i'd rather be doing something which actually held some interest. i'm on a slippery slope at the moment of really starting to detest our industry and even resent the fact i'm stuck in it.

OP wants a temp alarm to reuse in the finshed project.
I'd say wire the unplastered building for an alarm
Totally agree but whats being pushed is leaving the temp radio system in afterwards which is just poor on a new build period let alone a bungalow.
-
I can't be bothered with a conversation about why a wired system in a bungalow is better than a wireless system, it's a pointless argument if we're even having the conversation in the first place.
-
FFS... the world gone mad.
-
why on earth would you want a wireless alarm as the end product in a bungalow??????

-
Does any of this matter? I can't see anyone on this forum giving this product any credibility so it's just going to turn into a slating match.

To Brussels ?
and?

You don't have to acknowledge the tamper if you are in engineering mode. You just need to 'esc' out and get the 'checking tampers' message. If you still receive the tamper warning for 0004, then the contact between the 'T' and '0V' terminals is not good. If you have a meter, then check these pins to ensure there is no voltage differential present. Ie. 0V. If you get 0V, then the board may be faulty, or be in some wierd 'Flex' state.
you just cost me a call out!
-
FFS. I will tell you what the 0004 tamper is but will have to charge a call out?

Slightly off topic but I found myself at NSI headquarters today and the locksmith next to me asked "so what standard are we supposed to be installing our wireless only alarms to then"...
Thought he was a bit far into the process for a question like that.
He thought power max was the best panel on the market.
The downside is I know they'll hold his hand all the way and badge him anyway.
Very odd.

Think we're the only ones round here still cabling as a first option.
-
Indeed they do.
This is my home modem/router/firewall/DMZ.
I'd pay money to see the guys face who was tasked to install a maplin DVR trying to setup port forwarding
Did you order all the kit required, connect it all up and literally throw it in the corner?

we're flat out most of july (which is our inspection month) so called ssaib to get a date sorted out... that was 2 weeks ago and no one's called - i must be the only person calling them asking them to come and they can't even call back.

seriously well done, sorry to take the post away from you mate..

nah, I said one was impressive
lol

I'm not just think of today...
1 national,

I quote you "if there are any sub contractors in south wales ".. That would suggest you are not local to where the jobs are going to be so unless you will be going back to maintain them - where exactly do you think the money is in house bashing?
