  1. My mum and dad have a sterling 10 still running perfect after almost 20 years hardly ever serviced, doesn't make it any good though.
  2. Hi Ashton and welcome, where abouts in the North West are you?
  3. Would you mind telling us how much you pay Pete? We are with SSIS and pay about £1k for half of what you seem to have. I may be wrong but would like a starting point for next year.
  4. We are with SSIS brokers. Very easy to deal with and we found very competitive for our buildings and contents insurance for the office / stores about 1/2 the price of the local mob.
  5. Thanks for that, will order them next time.
  6. Do they do a D75 multi? The d75s I ordered off enterprise came without.
  7. The only problem is that you need to put the resistors in the D75 we where going to start using them over the yend74 but didn't for this reason.
  8. Not sure I deleted my short cut last week as it hadn't been working for ages.
  9. Neither. I would go galaxy wireless if it had to be wireless. Or on a budget enforcer.
  10. Ha ha. We always used CQR for a couple of years until we started to get loads of callouts with them going Hi Res. Moved to knights and had very few problems apart from the magnet dropping out of its glue inside the contact. It seems like there isn't enough glue to hold it in so we now add a dab of silicone, job done.
  11. We use knights contacts, no problems at all.
  12. A capture card off eBay fitted in a desktop PC would do the job.
  13. I get it, stand in the window looking if anything is going to happen then as it starts to kick off press record quick. Lol
  14. We have fitted 100s of Axis cameras with only one not working out of the box, some of them have now been fitted 3 years and not a single problem. Also the Axis video encoders and I/O mod's have been 100% trouble free aswell.
  15. Died for good had to be sent back for replacement.
  16. Yes. Still having problems with LEDs not working on certain cameras on the system. We have had 2 machines die completely.
  17. We have had nothing but trouble with Hikvision. For now we have stopped using it.
  18. No mobile is on and have web access, but calls not to me so it's very very rare I get a call. Since being told I had very high blood pressure etc a couple of years ago due to stressing over that kind of stuff I had a big change and thought feck it. It can wait until tomorrow / Monday etc, I now wind down at weekends if I am not on call and try not to think of work until Monday morning, and i get to spend quality time with my family.
  19. I came to that conclusion a couple of years ago remortgaged the house and bought a holiday home and have since spent every weekend when not on call away with my wife and kids. One of the best things I ever did.
  20. Now your talking Pete, where do I sign up ?
  21. I started on my own 8 yeas ago with nothing. If your going to make a go of it get ready for years of 80 + hour weeks. Tbh it's getting harder as the other muppets are working for peanuts these days.
  22. But surly under 2m it should be mechanically protected?
  23. After spending the last few days working in Glasgow I was expecting a total nightmare. TBH what a surprise, went out in the city for a meal and a few beers and it was far from what I thought it would be. I would 100% rather work in Glasgow than London.
